CAPTAIN ROBERT

OUPV, APCA

There are not very many days you’ll find me not on the water. Whether searching the flats for Redfish, cruising for lunch nearby, or on a lake constructing Improved Ribbon Bridges for the SC National Guard, there are more days than not that my love and knowledge for the water shows.

Born and raised in the heart of the Lowcountry, I now live a mere 3 miles from the Beaufort, SC Naval Hospital I was born in. My introduction to the water started as a toddler, when I would help my mother pluck shrimp off the dock as she casted away. As time progressed, I was casting right alongside of her while also keeping an eye on my rod and reel which I never let get too far away.

It wasn’t until after I graduated high school and got my first boat that I really discovered my passion for the Lowcountry and the abundance of species the Port Royal Sound had to offer. Every chance I got, I was on the water exploring while at the same time studying the various different species along with their behavior and feeding patterns.

To date, I am just as intrigued with the Lowcountry’s ecosystem as day one and still fish and explore every chance I get. I have accumulated a great deal of experience and local knowledge while traversing the Lowcountry’s many creeks, rivers, and sounds while still studying the behavior and patterns of numerous inshore and pelagic species and the local oyster beds that many of them call home.

I invite you to hop aboard with me and explore the Port Royal Sound and what many have called the nursery of the east coast!

If chartering a large party, 6 or greater,  is something you'd like than please feel free to shoot me a message. My profession has blessed me with a large number of friends and colleagues in the same field and I'm sure we can get you hooked up and on the water!
